It's a fact that whether used or new a Porsche 911 will be one of the most expensive purchases you will ever make. Buying a Porsche 911 is not like buying any old car, a lot of thought and research will need to go into it, do you know what to look out for in a test drive? Or maybe you need advice on how to pinpoint small damages that may go unnoticed, the buyer may not even know themselves?

Top ten tips for buying a used Porsche;

1. Always run a data check for finance, damage, theft e.t.c
2. Always check the V.I.N. number is correct in all the places and has no signs of tampering.
3. Follow your instincts. Never assume a shiny Porsche is a good one.
4. Avoid buying with emotion.
5. If you don't like the seller then don't buy.

These tips are really just scratching the surface of what goes into Porsche buying. There are many other technical aspects also such as; the test drive, checking to see if corrosion has been covered up (underneath the beautiful colours could be some very serious rust that could cost you thousands), and the deal (you need to find reasons to haggle a better price).

The Best 7 Seater Cars For Your Growing Family

Today's growing number of 7 seater cars have to be the way to go when you need enough room to comfortably carry a growing family. Gone are the days when you would get squished in the back seat with your 2 or 3 brothers or sisters, even sharing seatbelts to make room. Today's MPV, SUVs and CUVs make it easy to carry a lot of passengers.

Once you start looking for one though, you'll realize that there are so many to choose from... when I did a quick search I found a total of 204 in the United States! Which one is going to meet your family's needs best?

I think the best way to start your search is to determine the type of car that you need regardless of the number of seats. Let's take a look at the type of cars that are available in today's car market.

One of the best known types of vehicles is the traditional family sedan which is usually a 4 door vehicle that carries usually 4 or more passengers. In 2009, the most passenger room that I could find in a sedan was 5. So today's fuel economical sedan isn't going to fit the bill with our need for 7 seats. In the past that need was filled with the station wagon but today's station wagon is the MPV (multi-passenger vehicle) better known as the mini van.

If you're needs consist of a light duty MPV that is going to cart the family around to after school activities the mini van makes a good choice. Most vans will get decent fuel mileage of 20 to 25 MPG. There are even some new hybrid models that combine gas and electricity to get mileage into the 30 and 40 miles per gallon category. However if you're going to be driving the family around in rough weather, like snow, you may be better suited to drive a SUV or sports utility vehicle.

SUVs have gotten a bad rap as gas guzzling wrecking machines but in reality there is a need for the 4 wheel drive models in cold weather areas. You can carry 7 passengers with ease with the addition of a "way back" seat and if it starts to snow you just flip the switch to 4 wheel drive. The drawback is that they do swill some fuel. Mileage varies but you're generally in the 15 to 18 mpg range. Ford as a pretty cool hybrid SUV out there but it's smaller and will only accommodate 5 passengers.

Which brings us to the newest addition of passenger vehicles; the crossover utility vehicle. As you might expect from the name, the crossover combines attributes of multiple vehicles. A great example is the Ford Edge. In looking at it, you wonder is it a big station wagon, a van... an SUV? It's all of the above and usually a great choice for the larger family. When you look at the new crossovers you'll find 3 rows of well appointed comfort keeping everyone happy on a long trip. The downside to a crossover is like a SUV, they don't get great gas mileage. Look out in 2010 for some new hybrid cars that seat 7 to show up on dealers showrooms though.

Now that you know the differences between the types of 7 passenger vehicles, hopefully you'll be able to go to your area showroom knowing exactly what to look at in 7 seater cars.

The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

There are a considerable number of incentives for possessing a Prado and similar to all SUVs, the Prado has furthermore been engineered for traveling on suitably prepared routes with not a single dip for miles on end. There has been extensive debate on whether or not the things we obtain match our character and the same applies to automobiles. I imagine the answer is somewhat evident. The apparel we wear, the cell phone we enjoy and the automobiles we ride all reveal certain, if not all, features of our personality.

An investment banker by profession, I have an acquaintance that resides in the city and has a Prado. In spite of access to the beach and many out of city areas, which would need the service of an real Sports Utility Vehicle, besides an evident lack of appeal, a hectic job and private schedule confines him from following these excursions. So why did he consume a huge amount of cash on a Prado that never touches a rough patch?

The outward show and size have much to do with it. The incredible power of the Prado is beyond doubt an exhilarating feeling. My friend acknowledges that even if he solely drives his Prado on city roads it gives him with a sensation of power and adventure as if he were taking part in a coast-to-coast race. The Prado also exhibits a more aggressive demeanor in individuals. A Prado can traverse nearly any terrain with its exceptional four-wheel drive abilities and that says a lot about the way an individual tackles a setback, a considerably helpful image to exhibit in his profession.

Car makers have been addressing women in a considerable number of Sports Utility Vehicle marketing campaigns, showing facets in these types of automobiles associated with individualism and boldness. Even though it is not a familiar thing to spot women driving a Prado, each time one is spotted it is sufficient to turn heads. There is something fascinating about a woman driving an impressive Prado, being able to harness considerable force as well as any male.

The Prado is also an exceptionally enjoyable vehicle to travel in. I can still remember the period when driving a Land Cruiser even on city routes implied soreness and hard thuds. The contemporary Prado has exceptionally agreeable seating and can house around eight individuals considerably easily. Its safety and video options are also remarkable adding extra value to the vehicle.

Apart from these several points involved in purchasing a Prado, there is permanently a permanent group of individuals who obtain the Prado for its real function. These are the outdoor car enthusiasts that enjoy driving long stretches through rugged area, deploying the off road nature of the Land Cruiser. Whatever the goal, individuals that own a Prado have by no means grieved their plan and admire Toyota for manufacturing such a remarkable vehicle.

The Exterior of the BMW M5

The BMW M5 possesses the performance of a sports car and a body sort of a sedan or a saloon. The E28 version of the M5, which was produced in 1985 up to 1988, was by hand built by motorsport technicians. It was considered as the quickest production sedan in the world. Both left hand and right hand drive versions of the M5 was provided together with north american Specs version and South African specs version.

The E34 version of the M5 was also entirely hand built by either a team or just one of M workers. The M5 also had a singular road wheel design that was branded as surprising by others. The wheels of the M5 also came up with bolted-on wheel covers which had 5 spoke amalgamate wheels under it. The wheel cover went into a revamp later after folk regarded it as having'white-wall' tires.

The E39 M5 on the other hand, wasn't built by hand anymore. During its release, competing brands also released vehicles with relatively stronger engine. The E93 version of the M5 had 3 updates before it ended production in 2003.

The E60 version of the M5 was introduced in 2005. It uses individual throttle bodies in each of its cylinder to dispose of the throttle plate. This version of the M5 which is still in continuous production makes use of a 7-speed semi automatic transmission and a stiffened aluminum chassis. A touring body kind of the M5 was released in 2007 and is still ceaselessly produced right now.

The exterior of the M5 shows its strong performance. From each detail like the chrome plated chrome steel exhaust and the bonnet which holds impressive curves. The inside of the M5 also guarantees comfort and elegance all in one with the use of opulent merino leather and a sports style multi function steering wheel. The 2010 Lexus LF-A

It's finally official! The Lexus LF-A has just made its world debut at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. The Toyota built super car will be limited to a production run of only 500 units, each priced at $375,000. The Japanese luxury automaker is already taking orders, however the first deliveries won't be made until early 2011.

As you might already know, the LF-A is powered by a 4.8 liter V10 that delivers a maximum output of 560 HP at 9,000 RPM and a peak torque of 354 lb-ft at 6,800 RPM, with 90% of the total torque being available between the 3,700 RPM mark and the super car's 9,000 RPM red line. As a result of such a road torque curve, the LF-A can sprint from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.7 seconds and won't stop until it reaches a top speed of 202 MPH.

In order to ensure that the LF-A handles as well as it goes in a straight line, the Lexus design team incorporated lightweight materials like aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys and titanium alloys as well as some carbon fiber to ensure that the LF-A is as rigid as possible while maintaining a low curb weight. Even the new super car's power plant is compact in size, smaller than a conventional V8, which allowed the Toyota engineers to design the LF-A with the optimal weight distribution and an exceptional power to weight ratio. Thus giving Nissan and their GT-R super car something to watch out for.

Convertible Toyobaru FT-86 in the works

Toyota FT-866

In news that will only shock those that haven't been paying attention, Toyota has reportedly confirmed that if the market demands it, there will be a convertible version of the new FT-86. Though Toyota still hasn't settled on a name for the upcoming budget rear-drive sports car, the announcement of a drop-top option lends a bit more credence to the rumor that the Celica nameplate might be brought back from the dead.

Now, the notion of a convertible Celica really shouldn't shock anyone. However, what should shock you (at least a little) is the possibility of convertible Subaru. Because, besides a few one-offs and at least one was-never-going-to-see-the-light-of-day concept, Subaru has never built a convertible. And of course, this means that the very real possibility of an all-wheel drive, 300+ horsepower, 300+ lb-ft. of torque, six-speed manual Subaru roadster exists
